You will be aware that following our inspection in 2014, the school has been placed in an improvement category with Estyn. They visited us in June 2016 and stated that although progress was being made in all of our key recommendations, we were to remain in a support category for another year.
I wanted to make you aware that Estyn have notified us they are going to conduct their next monitoring visit on 20th – 22nd June 2017.
The staff at St Julian’s have been working incredibly hard over the past year to address the key recommendations – in particular with improving teaching and learning. You will hopefully have seen and heard of the positive impact of such work through conversations with your children about their experiences in the classroom and by looking at their books.
The net result of all our work was our best ever set of outcomes at English, Maths and Level 2 inclusive in 2016.
The 20th – 22nd June will now be an opportunity for the Governing Body and school to share ourwork and progress with the team from Estyn.
I will of course keep you updated with their findings.
Thank you for your continued support.
