LDC

The Learning Development Centre is Newport’s resource base for students with a statement for special educational needs.

The LDC has 60 places; 12 in each year group from Year 7 to Year 11. Students are taught a range of subjects by 5 specialist teachers supported by 10 Teaching Assistants. Their adapted curriculum includes Literacy and Numeracy alongside mainstream subjects.

The LDC is very much a part of St Julian’s School. All students are in houses, take part in extracurricular events and visits and are represented on the Student Council.

Our LDC students are valued members of our school community.
