Headteacher's Letter - Welsh Government Exams Announcement
Tuesday 10th November 2020
Re.: Welsh Government Exams Announcement
The Welsh Government has announced today that there will be no end of year exams for GCSE, AS-Level and A-Level.
Instead of exams, students will complete teacher-managed assessments which will include assessments that will be externally set and marked, but delivered within a classroom environment under teacher supervision.
The Welsh Government intends to produce more guidance on their proposals in December and share more information regarding BTEC qualifications shortly. As soon as we know more, we will update you.
It is important to note that despite a change to the normal examination procedures, students’ learning will still be assessed. Therefore, the message for our young people remains the same: attend school every day; concentrate and work hard in lessons; seek help and support when needed.
