Emergency Childcare Provision for Key Workers - Monday 14th December-Friday 18th December 2020
15 December 2020
Re.: Distance Learning Week - Monday 14th December to Friday 18th December
Welsh Government has asked schools today to make provision for emergency childcare for key workers for the remainder of this week. Childcare should only be requested in the most exceptional of circumstances. It is a last resort for frontline key workers who have no other option available to them. Places are limited and targeted at students in Year 7 and Year 8.
In order to minimise contact and reduce the risk of transmission between individuals, children should only be eligible to attend school where:
both their parents are identified as critical workers and
where one or both parents are unable to work from home, and
where there is no other childcare available
In the case of single-parent households, children should only be eligible to attend a hub place where that parent falls within the critical worker definition, and is unable to work from home, and has no other available childcare.
If you meet the criteria and need childcare provision this week, please phone the school between 0800 and 1600 to speak to a member of staff.
