London Theatre Trip 2019

On Monday 4th March 2019, 86 students and 6 members of staff headed to London for the day to see, ‘The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night-time.’ At London’s Piccadilly Theatre.  We were greeted in Convent Garden by a biblical downpour but then had a dry, sunny afternoon, albeit with a bitterly cold wind. The students enjoyed a look around the shops and the street theatre. Some of them even decided to join in, Chloe! Lots of food was consumed and after a bit of protest we went for a power walk around some of the tourist spots taking in the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Cenotaph, 10 Downing Street (No Teresa I’m afraid) and finally Trafalgar Square.  We headed back to Covent Garden for a bite to eat before the show and then took our seats at the theatre to watch one of the most powerful performances depicting a young boy, who has Aspergers Syndrome’s, dealing with the secrets in his world. The curtain came down to rapturous applause and we loaded back onto the buses for the homeward journey. Even though we were all exhausted it was well worth it.

I am so proud of all of the students and cannot wait to take them away again!
