Children's Commissioner's Visit - Friday 3rd may

On Friday 3rd May, St. Julian's School was delighted to welcome Sally Holland, the Children's Commissioner for Wales and Jeff Cuthbert, Gwent Police Commissioner, to meet with representatives from various charities. The main purpose of this high profile event was to showcase the ways in which our school and the local police have worked together on a valuable programme. This programme's intention is to try and prevent the young adults of our community from falling into crime.

We have been collaborating with three charities and their campaigns in order to achieve this goal; St Giles Trust, CrimeStoppers ('Fearless' Campaign) and Barnardos ('Prevent' campaign).

To further enhance the communication between the school and these organisations, a number of pupils were invited to represent the school and meet with these representatives from vital organisations. Some of these pupils have been supported by agencies themselves, so were able to share and reflect on their experiences with these charities.
