St Julians School

We are moving forward to deliver the best possible education for our pupils. Our curriculum will continue to evolve as we develop, trial and evaluate strategies and approaches designed to create a challenging, appropriate, relevant and inclusive curriculum. There is an emphasis on promoting strength and success in traditional academic subjects balanced with a desire to foster personalisation in our provision. The Curriculum is constantly reviewed and developed to not only meet the needs and strengths of our pupils, but to provide rich opportunities for them to develop a range of skills and enjoy memorable experiences.

Throughout our curriculum we have strength in the core. An increased share of curriculum time is allocated to English, Maths and Science throughout KS3 and KS4 to recognise the importance of success and progress in these key subjects.

There is a breadth of courses and range of levels across the curriculum, addressing the needs of all groups of pupils; a traditional academic offer balanced with specific vocational courses.

Have your say
'Qualified for the future' is a Qualifications Wales consultation initiative that is looking at the kind of qualifications needed for the new curriculum. The idea is that '16-year-olds in Wales take globally respected qualifications that inspire and prepare them for life, learning and work'.

Therefore, Qualifications Wales are encouraging parents/carers and students to give their views on the new curriculum.

Please see the attached link to the Qualification Wales website for further information.
