PSE
As part of the school’s Personal, Social and Health Education programme, your child will receive lessons on relationships, sexual health and personal safety from Year 7 to Year 11.
The purpose of PSE lessons is to provide knowledge and understanding of safe and healthy relationships based on love and respect. This is to encourage the eventual development of positive relationships in later life. Lessons will develop understanding and attitudes which will help students to form relationships in a responsible and healthy manner; older year groups will also have lessons raining awareness of safe sexual practices too.
All lessons are based on guidance and resources shared by professional bodies such as the NHS, Youth Services, the Police and the Welsh Government. Parents can withdraw their children from all or part of sex education that does not form part of the statutory National Curriculum. If you wish to withdraw your child from lessons on sexual health and safe relationships, please can you inform us by writing to (or emailing) your child's Head of House.
