St Julians School

curriculum aims

The aim of our curriculum is to ensure that students enjoy learning, make excellent progress and achieve their full potential. We are continually evaluating and refining our curriculum at all key stages to ensure that it is both engaging and relevant, is broad and balanced and meets the needs of all learners. The four purposes of the curriculum (outlined below) underpin our work and paint a picture of the type of young people we are aiming to shape and mould:

  • Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
  • Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
  • Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
  • Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

We want our students to be independent learners and thinkers who can, through their own efforts, adapt their knowledge, understanding and skills to pose key questions, research wisely, articulate solutions and provide novel answers to problems. We encourage all our pupils to develop the capacity for lifelong learning, to have a love of learning and to make sure that the learning needs of all pupils are fully met.
